Zeynep Ak Eğilmez
She graduated with honours from the English-medium Psychology programme of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2015. She then completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2018 with a thesis on “Childhood Masturbation and Related Factors”, earning the title of ‘Clinical Psychologist’.
During her undergraduate and master’s studies, she completed her clinical internships at Bakırköy Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Hospital. There she attended ward rounds on conditions such as psychosis, schizophrenia, addiction, antisocial personality disorder, paranoid personality disorder and borderline personality disorder, and took part in administering psychological tests.
During her undergraduate studies she volunteered with children at TEGV (Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey). She also volunteered with the KASAV (Kadıköy Health Education Centre) Association, taking part in preventive and supportive work with high-school students in the ‘Geç Değil’ (‘Not Too Late’) project run in cooperation with the Green Crescent (Yeşilay). Also during her undergraduate studies, she worked as an intern psychologist at various kindergartens and clinics.
Throughout her education she has attended many trainings and seminars. She also gives seminars to parents and educators at various institutions and organisations. Since 2016 she has worked with children, young people and adults in different kindergartens and clinical centres. She is a Europe-approved Accredited EMDR Therapist. She is a member of the Turkish Psychological Association and the EMDR Association of Turkey.
She currently works with adults, young people and children at Yâde Psikoloji. She also continues to run seminars and workshops for schools, parents and professionals.
